"Cigala" is a special edition which contains the best of Diego El Cigala's oeuvre, and is being released for the first time ever in a 5-CD box-set, in digipack format. This box-set brings together the best work from the career of this artist, who was born in Madrid. A man who possesses an excellentre voice timbre and a faultless meter as well as being the protagonist, alongside Cuban pianist Bebo Valdés, of one of the records of Spanish music that was most successful at an international level, "Lágrimas Negras", El Cigala is a one of the most highly rated cantaores (flamenco singers) at present.
The records that are collected in this box-set are "Corren tiempos de alegría", "Teatro Real", "Picasso en mis ojos", "Entre vareta y canasta" and, finally, it contains an extra CD that features tributes and guest appearances, 11 songs in total. Some extra contents that stand out are "Lágrimas negras" with Bebo Valdés, rancheras of the calibre of "Como quien pierde una estrella" with Alejandro Fernández, "El tesorillo" with Paco de Lucía's guitar playing, a song with a gypsy flavour like "Sobresaltos de plata" and classics such as "Suspiros de España", among others.
