An indispensable collection to learn, get to know and enjoy flamenco guitar playing, singing and dancing. A didactic description of the different palos (forms), the off-beat, palm clapping, measure, types of accompaniment, the speed of every dance... It is ideal for academies and for anyone who wants to study flamenco in their own house. It has 23 didactic volumes: 13 are normal and 10 are double; all of them are introduced by the bailaora (flamenco dancer) Cristina Hoyos.
This volume is devoted to guajiras, "a style which comes from Cuban folklore, as part of what have been referred to as 'cantes de ida y vuelta'. Their origins lie in the first half of the 20th century. It posesses a very concise rhythm, which is the reason why, when one steps with one's heels, the guitar accompaniment does not feature any falsetas (melodic phrases interspersed between a succession of chords) and only involves strumming. It tends to be a dance for women, with movements that are graceful and seductive".
