An indispensable collection to learn, get to know and enjoy flamenco guitar playing, singing and dancing. A didactic description of the different palos (forms), the off-beat, palm clapping, measure, types of accompaniment, the speed of every dance... It is ideal for academies and for anyone who wants to study flamenco in their own house. It has 23 didactic volumes: 13 are normal and 10 are double; all of them are introduced by the bailaora (flamenco dancer) Cristina Hoyos.
This volume is devoted to the free styles: serranas, livianas, debla, saeta, toná, trilla, nana, martinete and zambra. "The serrana comes from the mountain ranges. It is a gutsy style, very lively, melodic and catchy, that requires some mighty skills to be performed. It may have developed out of a form of Andalusian popular song that was subsequently flamencoised. Nowadays, in its melody it is possible to discover flavours of the caña, the seguiriya and especially the liviana. The dance, which was recently created, has the same meter and an air that is very similar to that of the seguiriya".
