A new film by Carlos Saura which has flamenco as its protagonist.
"Iberia" is a documentary that brings together flamenco and classical music, ballet and contemporary dance.
Inspired by the oeuvre of the Spanish composer Isaac Albéniz, the film
integrates the components of a musical in a unique manner. Saura’s camera turns into a further artist, and shares the preparation, rehearsals and gradual development of each performance.
It portrays a dramatic and moving universe, a world of passion and creativity, whose protagonists are artists of the standing of Sara Baras, Manolo Sanlúcar, Antonio Canales, Enrique Morente, Estrella Morente, Chano Domínguez, Gerardo Núñez and Aída Gómez, among others.
